Abstract
In this co-authored paper David H. Fleming and William Brown offer an introductions to their invertebrate media philosophy grounded in research into squid neuroscience conducted in Naples after the Second World War. Back then, the ancestors of today's networked devices and computational memories were based on the brain-body configurations of the common squid. Do today's digital media machines express a cephalopodic nature? This is an argument explored in their forthcoming book The Squid Cinema from Hell: Kinoteuthis Infernalis and the Emergence of Chthulumedia.
