International Journal of Mental Health Nursing. doi.org/10.1111/inm.13280 Implications for practice and research Trauma-informed care (TIC) in acute mental healthcare settings is inhibited by mental health nurses¡¯ experiences of being unsafe, their lack of emotion management skills and their involvement in coercive practices. Further research is needed to better understand the relationship between mental health nurses¡¯ emotional intelligence and their ability to implement TIC.
