About me

As Â鶹´«Ã½AV alumni myself I am proud now to teach at all levels of our Psychology programme.

I am interested in the reduction of inequality in human, and non-human animals. Recent projects have explored why vegetarians eat cheese and pescetarians eat fish ad we are investigating the role of nostalgia as a barrier to adopting a plant-based diet.

With my Phd students we are exploring the experiences of young autistic people in education and also using art-based methods to examine the role of stigma in adults with autism.

I also undertake andragogical research to improve the experience of our students such as improving note-taking skills and understanding the impact of being a first-generation scholar.

Teaching

I teach most of our social psychology content specialising in inter-group conflict and the psychology of internet sub-cultures such as incels, conspiracy theorists and a rage of 'anti' groups such as anti-psychiatry and anti vax communities.

Much of my teaching builds on my research interests and I am passionate about reducing inequity in the classroom, and dismantling barriers to education.
